Hiking is the most convenient in these mountains:
- Pyrenees: occupy the entire north-east of the country and serves as the border with France and Andorra. There are several beautiful national parks such as Ordesa y Monte Perdido, Valles Occidentales, Aigüestortes i Estany of Saint Maurice and the Parc Natural del Cadí-Moixeró. The highest mountain is Pico de Aneto (3,404 m asl). The most famous trek is GR11 leading from the Mediterranean Sea to the Atlantic
- Picos de Europe: beautiful limestone mountain range and a dream for hikers with deep canyons and beautiful lakes. The highest peak is Torre de Cerredo (2 648 m asl) and the most famous national park is here Covadonga
- Sierra Nevada: mountain range in Andalucia located at the very south of Spain. It is famous mainly due to the fact that there is the highest mountain in mainland of Spain – Mulhacen (3 479 m asl)
