Place Khumbu glacier

The most famous glacier in Nepal – Khumbu has only about twelve kilometers in length, which is not much compared with other glaciers. You can find longer even in the European Alps. But it is interesting mainly due to so-called Khumbu Icefall  – very dangerous part of the ascent route to Mount Everest. It is also quite wide, in some places it has about a kilometer in width.
