Or a unique building on a unique island
Trepuco is a prehistoric settlement located very close to the capital of the island, Mahon. It is one of the largest residences of its kind in Menorca. What is unique about this residence is that it was used as a command camp in the Middle Ages. Thanks to this, an internal system of walls reminiscent of medieval fortresses was built here.
Talayot
Like any proper prehistoric settlement in Menorca, Trepuco has its talayot. Information about these buildings varies and their true purpose is still unknown.
Taula
Trepuco has a very nicely preserved sacred place called taulu. Unlike other settlements of this type, where the taula is collapsed or damaged, here it can be seen in its entirety :)
The rest of the house
The remains of individual dwellings are also preserved here.
End of tour
Getting to Trepuco is no science. Everything is well marked. There is a large and, as is usual for Menorca monuments, a completely empty parking lot.
