Hiking circuits & Trekking

The ideal starting points to the Austrian Alps are from Salzburg or Innsbruck, from where you can go to both the crystalline and limestone Alps. Most such circuits will not miss the famous Krimml Waterfalls, the Großglockner Road with views of the Pasterze Glacier or the surroundings of the famous Dachstein Mountain.

Maps and orientation in the landscape

Petr Liška Wrote 06.04.2013:

All hiking trails are very well marked (red and white signs with the route number). At important crossroads, times for other important points (huts, saddles, peaks) are marked. In almost every city you can buy detailed (1:50 000 or 1:25 000) and accurate maps.
