Bald Mountain 1324m high, is a great attraction for all mountain lovers. On the one hand, it is the highest mountain in the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy Mountains, so there are beautiful views of it in all directions, and it is also a full-fledged ascent with an elevation gain of over 900 m, whether you choose one of the five routes leading to the top. In this article, I chose a small circuit, where the starting point was my parking lot under the hotel Petr Bezruč.

Route description

Today's article is dedicated to a small circuit of the hike to Lysá hora. I leave the parking lot under the Petr Bezruč hotel and follow the green sign. Right from the parking lot, the road climbs slightly to lead me to a small unmarked crossroads, where the sign continues to the left, but many people have learned to walk a little higher and either choose the route straight up, up a steep hill, or choose the option of turning left and the same path that continues along the blue mark to the bottom. The journey from the Bezruč hotel is considered to be one of the most demanding, but at the same time shorter ones, when the ascent for a more able tourist can take about 1: 30h. The blue sign will lead us to the Malchor crossroads, where we can already see the last part and probably the most challenging ascent through the former northern ski slope. In winter, when there is enough snow, the road leads almost directly to the top, in summer you walk on a newly paved sidewalk in serpentines. At the top is a newly built Bezruč cottage, which burned down in the 70s of last century. I can only recommend her cuisine and draft beer. Then I descend along the red sign to the signpost below Lukšinec, where the red sign continues to Ostravice. My steps lead along the yellow sign through the settlement of U Veličků, who run small snacks here, and further to Korýtek. The local spring of clean water is famous and therefore a lot of people from all over the area come here to get water in the supply. Again, I change the sign to green and after about a kilometer I walk to the car under the Petr Bezruč hotel. The whole walk took me about 3:00 am. But everything depends on the step and the weather.

On the way to the blue mark, conifers alternate with beech forests and winter can conjure up beautiful scenery. In the background the peak of Malchor

For the first time during the trip I see the peak with the former northern ski slope, which has recently been modified and is slowly becoming forested

Sunset

On Lysá hora, sunrises and sunsets are a famous spectacle. On this trip I wished only at this moment :-)

Snow men

If there is enough snow, so-called snow men form from the top of the adjacent hills from the trees
