Or a view of the Beskydy Mountains

The Valaška trail is exactly the type of building that we would call the „treetop trail“. The trail of 660 meters longer will take you to the top, from where there are truly magnificent views.
Pustevny
The Valaška trail can be reached directly from probably the most famous point in the entire Beskydy Mountains, from Pusteven. The hermitages were built according to the designs of the architect Dušan Jurkovič in 1898.

Where to go from Pusteven
In 2014, a fire in the entire building damaged one of the cottages. However, this was corrected and reopened to the public in 2020. From Pusteven we follow the red tourist sign up the hill. The direction cannot be missed, because most tourists are heading to the Valaška trail. Therefore, it is advisable to go here in the morning, thus avoiding the largest crowds.

We're climbing
The trail crosses the forest quite gently and gradually rises above the treetops. Along the way, there are a lot of information panels about the local fauna, flora, the Beskydy Mountains in general or the trail itself.

Suspension Bridge
The trail also contains various „adrenaline“ elements. One of them is a cable-stayed bridge.

We continue
The rope bridge is an interesting diversification of the way up. However, definitely do not let it go if you do not like to go for something that moves, or if you are afraid of heights.

Sky walk
Another local attraction is the so-called sky walk. In order to take a photo on this glass floor, you have to wait in line. However, if you miss the outlook you will not lose.

Prospects
The view from Valaška from a height of 1099 m is beautiful. It is possible to see not only the nearest peaks of hills such as Okrouhlý, Zmrzlý vrch or Radhošť, but the attentive tourist will notice that he can see, for example, up to Štramberk.

View of Radhošť
You can also see Radhošť, which is a frequent destination for tourists, and was also our destination.

Retrospect
If you go from Pusteven towards Radhošť and turn back, you will see the Valaška trail from a distance as it rises above the treetops.
