Observation hill
A short sightseeing circuit easily accessible by the Gerlossteinbahn cable car.
Hainzenberg
From Zell am Ziller we take the B165 to Hainzenberg, where the lower station of the Gerlossteinbahn cable car is.
Meadow
The cable car runs every 20 minutes, so it's time to look around the surrounding meadows and traditional wooden buildings.
Between the clouds
In playful mountain weather, we head up from the top station of the cable car along a marked path roughly south. The Berghotel Gerlosstein proudly rises above the valley.

This mountain flora will always please.

Here you can stay and enjoy the mountain environment.
Under Gerlosstein
We climb to 1770 m above sea level. Here is a turnoff leading to the left under the wall of Gerlosstein. However, we continue straight and right up to the top of Arbiskögerl (1830 m).
Zillertal
The view of the Zillertal and its mountains opens from the top.
Hide and seek
The clouds are above and below us, sometimes some details of the landscape appear like a ghost, only to disappear behind the cloud wall in a few moments.
Refraction, decomposition, reflection and interference
It's just a rainbow and now we're looking down at the valley.
Under Penken
The clouds sometimes part, and suddenly meadows and buildings appear below Penken.
Mountain meadows
We descend from the top and go around it clockwise. The weather is getting better, the views of the surrounding mountains are getting better.
Mountain farm
A narrow path leads us through the meadows to a mountain farm. From here, a wide carriage path leads back to the cable car station.
Zell am Ziller
We approach the Hainzenberg through the Gerlossteinbahn cabin. Down in the valley is Zell am Ziller
Meadows
This time we look at the steep slopes of meadows and traditional wooden houses from the top.
