For families with children and tourists
The Rosenalm is an easily accessible location by cable car above Zell am Ziller. There are several hiking trails with the possibility of climbing, for example, to Kreuzjoch (2558 m above sea level). For those who do not want to go anywhere further, there are nice views of the Zillertal and families with children will also find a lot of fun here.
Forest
From the upper station of the Rosenalmbahn cable car, we head up the unmarked trail and climb through the forest.
Meadows
At an altitude of 1820 m above sea level, we turn sharply to the left in the NE direction and ascend above the forest stand. We fight with the clouds, sometimes they have the upper hand, sometimes we win.
Evidence
We climb to the well on the mountain stream Sagbach. And after more than 100 years, we return to one of Jára Cimrman's key works: „Verteilung der Bergwiesen im Zillertal“. And we give proof: the grass behind the fence tastes the most.
The lake
From the well we descend along the Quellenweg. We pass a forest lake.
Fichtensee
We descend to Lake Fichtensee. The area around the lake was completed in 2020 and offers, in addition to refreshments, a boat rental and children's attractions.
Hut
From the lake we return back to the upper station of the Rosenalmbahn cable car. There are also some nice old wooden buildings in a completely traditional style.
Kreithütte
From the Fichtenschloss playground, there is again a nice view of the end of the Ziller Valley. Coffee or local schnaps is available, for example, in the Kreithütte hut.
