Cable car over Mayrhofen
Two cable cars – Penkenbahn (starting in the center of Mayrhofen) and Kombibahn Penken – will take us 1980 m above sea level: a relaxing trip with the possibility of easy hiking with minimal elevation gain and views of the peaks of the Zillertal Alps.
Dance Mandel
Excursion restaurant above the top station of the cable car to Penken.
Loner
About 20 meters below the top station of the cable car is a lone dead tree, from which there is a nice view of the Ziller Valley.
Airmen
The surrounding meadows are widely used as starting areas for paragliding. The offer of tandem flying is relatively extensive in the area.
Tristnereck
Behind the Zemmtal valley, the peaks of Tristnereck (2328 m) and Tristner (2767 m) rise.
They are everywhere
They are the most persistent hikers of the local mountains. They are everywhere. Too bad the photos don't have sound. Their bells are not only beautiful, they also sound great.
Knorren
Only about 700 meters walk takes us to the small peak Knorren (2081 m), from which there is a nice circular view of the surrounding mountains.
Karl-von-Edel-Hütte
One of the most popular destinations in the area is Karl-von-Edel-Hütte. From Penken we have it as the crow flies 8 km as if in the palm of our hand.
Ahornspitze
A beautiful view from here is also of the Ahornspitze (2976 m above sea level). Many tourists use the Karl-von-Edel-Hütte at the foot of this mountain as a starting point to conquer this mountain.
