A peak with breathtaking alpine views
With its 2015 m above sea level, this peak is the highest mountain of the Schladming ski and tourist resort. Throughout the year, it offers a wonderful view of the alpine giants headed by the Dachstein massif.
Above the valley
The cable car takes us from the town of Haus above the valley of the river Enns. From here another, this time four chairlift to a height of about 1850 m above sea level leads from a place 150 meters away.
Krummholzhütte
In addition to fantastic views, there is a transmitter tower and the possibility of refreshments in the chalet. There are a lot of skiers who come here and other chairlifts from the neighboring valleys.
Under the cable car
We put on snowshoes and go to the slope, after which we climb very steeply to the top. As we climb up, skiers in the chairlifts sway over us in peace.
Alpine giants
In the middle of the slope we stop and admire the alpine giants: Hoher Dachstein (2995 m), Grosser Koppenkarstein (2863 m) and Scheichenspitze (2667 m).
On the top
The top of Hauser Kaibling (2015 m above sea level) is just above the top station of the chairlift.
Prospects
There is a circular view from here. In addition to the already mentioned panorama of the Dachstein, Spielbühel (2284 m above sea level) and Sonntagerhöhe (2310 m above sea level) can be seen on the southwest side.
Descent
We use snowshoes and overcome the return journey under the cable car significantly faster than the ascent. The weather and views are still great.
Rest
At the upper station of the cable car (at the lower station there are four seats) there is a pleasant outdoor seating area.
Straight line?
Don't overdo it with refreshments on the slope, or the flat condensation trail of the plane will seem crooked. Or was she really like that?
