Genius loci near Pond World
The Schwarzenberg tomb is located in the Třeboň park near the Svět pond. The tomb was founded by John Adolf II. Schwarzenberg. One of the stimuli for the construction of the tomb was the death of his wife, Princess Eleonora, on July 27, 1873. Construction began in 1874. The monumental “South Bohemian Sea“
Only about 6 km north of the city of Třeboň is the largest Czech pond. The Lužnice River flows through the pond and is used for fish farming. It was built at the end of the 16th century by Jakub Krčín. Rožmberk is therefore proof that when human ingenuity is combined with respect for nature, a work of art is created that will last for centuries.
