Trip to Hruboskalsko
Rock town with castle
Hruboskalsko competes with Prachov rocks for the most popular tourist rock town in the Bohemian Paradise. You can admire here beautiful panoramas not only of interesting rock formations, but also distant views of Kozákov ridge (“Kozákovský hřeben”), Giant Mountains (“Krkonoše”) and Ještěd. Except for it there is also nice castle Hrubá Skála, castle Valdštejn (“Wallenstein”) and interesting Kopic farm (“Kopicův statek”) and a short way from here also reliefs in sandstone rocks. It is possible to combine here easy hiking circuits suitable also for small children with more difficult ones, where you can expect hundreds of stairs in the center of the rock town. continue reading
A trip to Prachovské skal
The most famous rock town
Prachovské skály is perhaps the most famous Czech rock town famous not only for the song by Ivan Mládek, but also for the legend of the visit of the Austrian Emperor František I., after which is named the most picturesque gorge of the rocks Císařská chodba. There are also beautiful views such as the view of Peace or the Bohemian Paradise and some gorges so narrow that a heavier adult has trouble stretching here. It is also one of the most popular places for climbers to climb high rock needles. Nice trip on the south of Czech Paradise
The town of Sobotka is the starting point to the picturesque southern part of the Czech Paradise. There are nice folk timbered buildings and just a bit further known landmark of the region – castle Humprecht. From Sobotka get two kilometers away to Vesec, which is also famous for its folk architecture. The most beautiful hike in the Maloskalsko region
Besedice rocks are only a small rock town, but full of interest. Apart from the rock towers and narrow manholes in the two rock labyrinths Chléviště and Kalich, there are great views of the Jizera Valley or the dolomitic Suché skály. In addition, you can easily conquer the top of Sokol (562 m above sea level) from this side. Volcanoes of the Bohemian Paradise
If you like nice views without any bigger effort, then the trip around hills, mostly old volcanoes around Jičín, is ideal for you. In one day you can see both Veliš (429 m asl) with stunning views of Jičín basin and the ruins of castle Kumburk (642 m asl) overlooking the Giant mountains, lookout Tábor (678 m asl), which is also the highest hill near Jičín, and interesting hill Brada (439 m asl). continue reading
