Nice trip on the south of Czech Paradise
The town of Sobotka is the starting point to the picturesque southern part of the Czech Paradise. There are nice folk timbered buildings and just a bit further known landmark of the region – castle Humprecht. From Sobotka get two kilometers away to Vesec, which is also famous for its folk architecture. From there, head out on foot first through Vesecky Plakánek, later through Střehomsky Plakánek to the castle Kost.

The town Sobotka lies at the southern end of the Czech Paradise and is most known for the unmistakable silhouette of hunting castle Humprecht towering on hill bearing the same name (342 m asl). The local nice square is surrounded on three sides by houses with arcades and on the west side you can find a lot of nice wooden cottages. The walk around Plakanek valley offer views of sandstone rocks towering above the ponds. The way begins in the picturesque village Vesec, which is full of beautiful wooden houses and descends in shady valley of Vesecky Plakanek to the stream Klenice along which continues on through Strehomsky Plakanek around beautiful pond Obora up to the castle Kost. You can get back to Vesec either by the shortest route along the road around the torso of Semtin linden or along the yellow tourist path continue reading

Castle situated in a picturesque place
One of the most beautiful Czech castles Kost (“The Bone”) stands on a sandstone promontory at the confluence of three valleys on the southern end of the Czech Paradise. There are walking paths connecting the castle with other beautiful places of the Czech Paradise on all sides of the castle. Except for the tour of the castle itself, it is worth to undertake a short walk around its surroundings with beautiful views of the castle.
