Classic hike Jičín - Turnov
The Golden Trail of the Bohemian Paradise is by far the most classic hike in this picturesque area. Along the way, you will see the rock towns of Prachovské skály and Hruboskalsko, but also the symbol of the Bohemian Paradise – the ruins of Trosky Castle.

Jičín or Turnov
It doesn't really matter from which city you start the march, both are well accessible by public transport and connections between them are quite frequent. We will start in Jičín. If you are not familiar with it, be sure to at least take a short tour.

Sights around the square Wallenstein
All major sights that can be seen in Jicin, are located near a large Wallenstein Square and along the pedestrian Hus street. The most famous landmarks are tower Valdice Gate (serving as a lookout tower), the unfinished church of saint James and Jicin palace with a nice garden. continue reading

The first stage of the Golden Trail through the Bohemian Paradise
The first stage of the march is the path to the Prachovský skály. You can set off straight away on three different marked paths. The shortest is the red one (5 km), which is where most people go. However, it is an uninteresting path leading all the way along the road through Holín. The most interesting is the blue trail through the Brada and Prívýšina viewpoints (7km).

Start of the trek around the Czech Paradise
If you would like to undertake the most famous trip around the Czech Paradise, so the crossing around all the greatest attractions from Jicin to Turnov, you will certainly approach the most famous tourist magnet during the first stage – Prachov rocks. Most tourists walk along the main red trail. But it leads basically all the time on the road , so far more interesting is blue trail leading through nice outlook from hill Brada and small sandstone town in the surroundings of hil Privysina. continue reading

New outlook of Czech Paradise
Hill Brada (439 m asl) used to be a neglected stop during hikes in the Czech Paradise. That changed, however, after its top was virtually deforested and became a nice outlook of Jicin basin with the beautiful hill Zebin, Trosky, Jested and Tabor. In addition, there is a small educative trail and Rumcajs cave, which may be particularly interesting for your kids. continue reading

Crossing the Prachovské rocks
The next part of the route leads through the Prachovské skály. They are, however, paid for, so if you know them and want to save money, you can bypass them by following the yellow and then the green tourist route. If you go through them, which is of course the recommended option, then it is up to you whether you stay there and climb them more thoroughly or go straight (the straight section is only about 1.5 km). When expanding the circle, expect that you still have a good portion of kilometers to go before you reach Turnovo

If you set out on the famous Golden Trail of the Bohemian Paradise, the passage of the Prachovské Rocks awaits you. If you follow only this main red-marked route, Křížkovského lookout and a passage through the famous Imperial Corridor await you here. Since the entrance to the rocks is charged (in season), it is worth widening the passage of the rocks, at least by a small circuit or bypassing the rocks along the yellow and then the blue hiking trail, if you already know them continue reading
From Prachovské skaly to Mladějov
Through the rock castle Pařez
This stage is almost six kilometers long. From the tourist hut, you will first descend to the Pelíšek swimming pool (previously popular, mostly overgrown with algae in recent years). From there, first through a rocky valley and then along the massif to the famous rock castle Pařez. From there it is a slightly less lively journey through the forest to Mladějov (possibility of refreshments)

On the red tourist route connecting Prachovské skály with Mladějov you will find a small rock castle Pařez. As it is close to it and a small parking lot is available not only for long-distance tourists for a short tour. From Mladějov to Hrubá Skála
From Mladějov, the path continues into the beautiful Podtrosecké Valley. Podtrosecké údolí is a beautiful part of the Bohemian Paradise and as such is worth a day trip. As part of the through route, the most common option is to stop at the Trosky castle, then go down to the Vidlák pond and follow the red through a long rocky valley to Hrubá skála – a total of 11 kilometers
Walk Mladějov - Dolní Mlýn
Walk to the picturesque pond
Less than a two-kilometer route from Mladějov to Dolský rybník can be for some only a short part of the Golden Trail through the Bohemian Paradise, for others a short and easy walk. The destination is the picturesque Dolský pond continue reading

If you come to the Bohemian Paradise, visit of the castle Trosky is nearly obligations. Besides, it's such a symbol throughout the protected area, it is also a beautiful view far and wide. Custom tour is relatively short, there are to explore in fact only two observation towers. continue reading
Hike Vidlák - Krčák - Trosky
Along Krčák below the most famous ruins
The hike from Vidlák to Trosky around the Krčák pond is relatively short, because it leads along the road and so most tourists climb the red-marked path through the forest. You will meet mainly cyclists or families with a pram. The advantage over the marked route, which is not very interesting is the view of the beautiful pond Krčák and centuries-old oaks in its vicinity. continue reading

The last seven-kilometer section of this beautiful hike leads above the Hruboskalsky rock town with lots of views to Valdštejn Castle and on to Turnov
Walk through Mouse Hole to Adam's bed
The most beautiful gorge in Hruboskalsko
If you are visiting Hruboskalsko (“the area around castle Hrubá Skála”), do not forget to go through the Mouse hole (“Myší díra”) to Adam's bed (“Adamovo lože”). Although it is a very short walk, you can enjoy here the atmosphere of shady ravine between high sandstone rocks. For most tourists it is just a starting point into a big circle around Hruboskalsko or of a trip further on to the castle of Waldstein (“Valdštejn”) or up to Turnov. It can also be final destination for families with small children. They may like it here due to the rock chasms that are on the way. At the same time leads this way also an alternative way from Spa Sedmihorky. continue reading
Walk Hrubá Skála - Wallenstein
The easiest trip in Hruboskalsko
Three and a half kilometer long walk from Hrubá Skála to the castle Wallenstein (“Valdštejn”) is one the most typical hikes in Hruboskalsko. Thanks to a wide path leads here also a cycling trail and is comfortable also for families with strollers and small children. The most beautiful place is the outlook of The Band (“Kapela), from where you can see dozens of towers in the rock town. This trail is part of the long-distance walk through the Bohemian Paradise from Jičín to Turnov. You can either return back the same route, but it is better to do this classic circuit and walk back „inside“ the rock town. continue reading

The journey from Valdštejn Castle is the last stage of the crossing of the Bohemian Paradise along the Golden Trail from Jičín to Turnov.
