If you come to the Bohemian Paradise, visit of the castle Trosky is nearly obligations. Besides, it's such a symbol throughout the protected area, it is also a beautiful view far and wide. Custom tour is relatively short, there are to explore in fact only two observation towers.

The view of Panna (“The Virgin”)

Although there are several hiking trails leading to the castle Trosky, the vast majority of visitors drive up to the car park below the castle ( 420 m asl) and makes thereby the ascent to the towers considerably easier. From the car park it's not more than 500 meters walk through the woods to the castle gate. The tour is free here without a guide – and there is also no reason for a guide. In the main season there are often hawkers standing around in front main courtyard mostly on weekends, so there is no problem to take a picture with an eagle, buzzard or horned owl. From the main courtyard there are basically only two options of the trip continuation – either ascent to the outlook point under Panna /the top of the tower itself is not accessible / or to the other side to Baba, where it is possible to get to the top. Of course it is worth to ascent to both outlook towers.

View of Baba (“The old lady”)

You need to make your way through crowds of other tourists on the circular staircase leading to the observation deck. But there is a beautiful panoramic view from it. The question is how people earlier climbed to the neighboring tower Baba as the staircase is now laced outside the object on the rock. It is also nice to see from here that the castle itself was very narrow – only two massive high walls connecting the two towers.

View of Tábor

It is possible to see up to the Giant Mountains on the northern horizon, but much closer is the ridge in Kozákov with its eastern end in the form of peak Tabor.

View of Panna (“The Virgin”)

There is a long staircase leading up to the top of Baba that can well verify tourist´s physical condition. However, the views from here are superb – not only of the Czech Paradise, but there are also panoramic views of the entire castle.

Sklopísek Střeleč

The eastern horizon is disturbed by huge sand quarry with the factory. Behind it there are legendary Prachov rocks, Přivýšina , Brada or other famous outlook from Velis.

View of Vyskeř

Vysker hill ( 466 m asl) on the opposite upland plain looks as a counterweight of Trosky. Absolutely in the distance you can see even higher peaks of Ralsko and Bezděz.

Western panorama

Czech Paradise is separated from the massive of Ještědsko – Kozákovský ridge, seen from here in all its glory, wide river basin Libuňky , where should in the future be a controversial highway through the Czech Paradise.

Trosky („The ruins“) in autumn

Autumn is the most beautiful period in the Czech Paradise, however, if it isn´t  drizzly  – there are fewer tourists and the country is full of autumn colors.
