Robber's castle near Prachovské rocks
On the red tourist route connecting Prachovské skály with Mladějov you will find a small rock castle Pařez. As it is close to it and a small parking lot is available not only for long-distance tourists for a short tour. Here you will find mainly rock caves, similar to other rock castles in the Bohemian Paradise
A pond near the Pařez castle
If you do not find a long-distance tourist route, then your starting point for the castle will be by the pond below Pařezská Lhota (there are several places to park and the castle is only a few tens of meters away)
View of Stump from the pond
The castle was exhibited on a solitary rock massif. If you want to see it from a distance, it is better to be here at a time when the trees are still without leaves. In 2004, everything around it was felled and the view was great (see a small historical photo), unfortunately it is overgrown again
Ascent to the castle Pařez
A long staircase leads to the castle. You will also find an educational sign about the history of the castle
The top plateau of the castle
Finally we are at the top of the castle, where it becomes interesting. The main attraction here are the rock chambers
Descent through the gorge
The advantage of Stump is that you do not have to go back the same way. The path continues through an interesting gorge between the rock walls. However, we will not leave for a while
View of Pařezská Lhota
From the rock plateau there is quite a nice view of the adjacent pond and the lower part of Pařezská Lhota
Tour of rock flats
The climbing of several local rock flats is especially interesting for children
Flats on Stump
Here you can crawl through rock doors, windows as you like
The full top of the castle
There is not much to see from the very top of the castle, the lower view is significantly better
Beautiful rock window
Directly above the gorge is a beautiful rock window to the main apartment
Way back
If you go to Mladějov you will continue along the red road. If you park by the pond, you can go back directly under the castle (where the marked path leads) or go around it on a footpath from the south side, where you can see the rest of the walls
Rock gate opposite Pařez
As a bonus, you can climb the hill opposite the castle, where there is a nice rock gate
