The most adventurous circuit in Prachovské skály
The side circuit through Prachovské skály leads along a green tourist route and is characterized by a slightly more adventurous path than that offered by the main circuit – especially in winter or in the wet. Masaryk's Way, Americká sluj, Fortna, Leaning Tower and Pech's Viewpoint will be waiting for you, as well as a good dose of stairs. In this first part we will describe Masaryk's journey
The beginning of Masaryk's journey
From the tourist hut, the first few hundred meters of the side circuit leads along the same route as the main one. At the beautiful crossroads of Zadní Točenice, our green-marked route turns off and you start to climb the so-called Masaryk Road by endless stairs.
Šlik's prospect
The first view on this route is Šlikova. For most visitors, it is a resting place after a long climb from the bottom of the valley
View of Všeteček's viewpoint
From Šlik's viewpoint, it is only a short distance to the next one and a little better – Všetečková
Ascent to Všeteček's viewpoint
Although the two prospects are basically right next to each other, it still means going down the stairs and going up again. It is not for nothing that Masaryk's path is probably the most demanding route in Prachovské skaly
Všeteček's prospect
Všeteček's viewpoint is the most beautiful on this circuit – a beautiful view of the rock towers around the Imperial Corridor
Parade of rock towers
From Všeteček's viewpoint there is a beautiful view of the towers on the other side of the valley
Scout rock
From the viewpoint, a several hundred meters more comfortable path through the forest awaits you until you reach a romantic place by the Scout Rock.
Sluj under the Scout Rock
Then a passage through a very narrow slut awaits you – a rather dangerous place in winter
Prospects of Professor Haken and Rumcajsov
The following are two prospects from which almost nothing can be seen: prof. Hakena and Rumcajsova. In recent years, however, there is quite a lot of mining activity in Prachovské skaly, so the forest around those prospects may also fall
Path through a rock maze
The path continues through a nice rock maze and further up several stairs to the main route
Glagolitic prospect
After ascending the plateau, it is definitely worth a few tens of meters to the Hlaholská viewpoint. It's nice to be here in the afternoon, otherwise you have a pretty big backlight. The views of the surrounding hills are very nice. You can find the continuation of this circuit HERE
