A trip to a viewpoint from where nothing can be seen
Not far from Hrdoňovice, there is an abandoned Markov lookout in the woods. Currently, nothing can be seen from it, as it is overgrown with dense forest. But who knows, maybe loggers will rampage here someday and the view from here will open up again. The walk is therefore rather ideal for those who want to walk without encountering crowds of tourists.
View of Trosky
One of the possible starting points for this walk is the slope of Strělečská Hůra above the village of Strěleč. Here you can leave your car by the side of the road and go for a walk. There is a nice view of Trosky from here.
A train station in the wasteland
From Strělečská Hůra, you will walk about half a kilometer before you come across the yellow hiking trail. After it, it is less than half a kilometer to the interesting Hrdoňovice railway station (alternative start of the walk). The stop is in the middle of the woods and it is over a kilometer to the village
Mark's Prospect
Now you are basically a tracking game – find the capstone. There used to be a yellow-marked hiking trail, but it was canceled after the viewpoint became overgrown. Basically, it is enough to climb up through the forest from the railway station. The viewpoint is on a small rocky plateau.
View of the region
There is no view from the „lookout“ itself. But if you walk to the western end of the rock plateau, there is a cut in the forest due to the power line and a partial view of Kozákov Hill.
View of Kozákov
You can see the interesting church of St. John the Baptist in Újezd pod Troskami.
