Start of the trek around the Czech Paradise
If you would like to undertake the most famous trip around the Czech Paradise, so the crossing around all the greatest attractions from Jicin to Turnov, you will certainly approach the most famous tourist magnet during the first stage – Prachov rocks. Most tourists walk along the main red trail. But it leads basically all the time on the road , so far more interesting is blue trail leading through nice outlook from hill Brada and small sandstone town in the surroundings of hil Privysina.
Lake Kníže
From the Wallenstein Square, go along the blue tourist path and after about 400 meters walk from the city center you get to to a Pond Kníže (= Lord) – a favorite place for local fishermen.
Around pond Kníže
Around the pond you can make a nice walk, even though there is quite busy road running along the dam. But most turist set off here only because of the nearby swimming pool or our trip.

The newly renovated swimming pool behind Lake Kníže well serve as whole-day destination during hot summer days or just as an afternoon bathe after a trip in the Czech Paradise.

After you leave the town center along the blue tourist trail, you will continue on around the pond and swimming pool Knize and get to the village Kometa after a while. Behind the village there will be a nice view of the dominant of the area – hill Zebin.
The way to Kbelnice
The path then leads on along the newly planted rows of trees to the village Kbelnice with nice views of the surrounding hills. This part of the route leads along the educative trail of the Battle near Jicin 29th June 1866, so that you can read here also something about the history of the Austro-Prussian War. In Kbelnice (2.5 km of the hike) it is possible to have some food in the local restaurant on the main road.
View of Veliš
After crossing the busy main road from Turnov to Jičín in Kbelnice, the road will head to the village of Rybníček. You will have a view of the Veliš hill across the fields.
On the way to Brada
The way leads along the narrow asphalt road. The traffic is here significantly higher than in recent years due to the new buildings. You will already see the destination of this stage on the horizon – hill Brada with a lone tree, a cross and a statue of the saint.

The path is getting steeper and with increasing altitude there are still better views of the town Jicin.
View of Kumburk and Bradlec
You will ascent to the crossroads Bradacka after 4.5 km walk from Jicin. There are nice views of particularly Kozakovsky ridge separating the Czech Paradise from the Giant Mountains. The view from here was really excellent before a new house was built here. Even today, however, the view is not bad. From here awaits you the final ascent under the hill Brada.
View of Velis
Along the way you will have views of the hill Velis perched on the other side of Jicin basin. At the end of the village Brada is the Church of St. Bartholomew with a cemetery, small car park and restaurant. From there you can continue on through village Privysina to the Prachov rocks. But remember, however, to ascent to the top of hill Brada.
