Already the first day of the tour will test your altitude acclimatization as you will practically always be in height over four thousand meters above sea level and in the highest point at the fumaroles Sol de Mañana even at nearly five thousand meters above sea level. The second disadvantage of starting from San Pedro is that you will see the most beautiful places right at the beginning.

After completion of customs procedures in San Pedro de Atacama (2 445 m asl) awaits you a longer drive (for the first and at the same time last time on the asphalt road) to the border between Chile and Bolivia – Hito Cajon. From there begins an amazing ride along the lagoons lined with volcanoes to red-colored landscape of Salvador Dali up to amazing lagoon of Colorado, where the night is spent. Do not forget to go out in the evening and enjoy the incredible number of stars. Sky in Altiplano is unsurpassed!

The second day awaits you right from the beginning the abandoned rock formation Arbol de Piedra in a volcanic desert Siloli and another beautiful lagoons, where you will certainly see large flocks of flamingos and llamas. You will then drive around slightly smoking volcano Ollague to small salar Chiguana. This is followed by almost 80 km of less gripping way before you reach the edge of salar de Uyuni. On its „bank“ are several hotels del Sal, where you can spend the night in style, even if the „true and first one“ is on the other side of salar at the village of Colchani. If you sleep in the village Atulcha, you can as a small bonus set out in the evening to the old Inca ruins overgrown with giant cacti. Those having problems with altitude will finally rejoice, because salar is already below four thousand meters above sea level.
 

The third day is about seeing the biggest salar in the world – salar de Uyuni and interesting „island“ Incahuasi covered with giant cacti. At the end you will see hotel de Sal and mining village of Colchani and before you end your tour in Uyuni, also the famous cemetery of old trains.
