The most visited gorge in Slovenia
Slovenia's best-known and most visited gorge was discovered by the local mayor and cartographer Jakob Žumer and photographer Benedict Lergetpore in 1891. The first tourists could see it for two years after that in 1893. It is 1600 meters long and the canyon reaches depths up to 250 meters, but my personal estimate is some 150 meters. There is an entrance fee of 5 Euro and there are a lot of tourists.
