You can find the gorge just a short distance from the town of Sankt Johann im Pongau. The most visited gorge in Switzerland
The Aareschlucht gorge is located in eastern Berner Oberland and connects the towns of Meiringen and Innertkirchen. A roughly 1.4 km long trail crosses the gorge along the wild, milky white waters of the River Aare, and passes tunnels and ledges below the limestone overhangs. The gorge is 180 meters deep and at the narrowest point less than one meter wide. The Aare River flows at a rate of up to 12 km per hour. Wimbachklamm gorge is available from Ramsau bei Berchtesgaden. The starting point is the parking on Wimbachbrucke (634 meters above sea level). The journey from the car park to the gorge takes about 20 minutes. The admission fee is EUR 1.5 for adults, children up to 6 years have free admission. Vintgar gorge
The most visited gorge in Slovenia
Slovenia's best-known and most visited gorge was discovered by the local mayor and cartographer Jakob Žumer and photographer Benedict Lergetpore in 1891. The first tourists could see it for two years after that in 1893. It is 1600 meters long and the canyon reaches depths up to 250 meters, but my personal estimate is some 150 meters.
