The Julian Alps of the Slovenian side offer a great number of beautiful places. There are many beautiful lakes such as Bled or Bohnij. Famous is Vintgar Gorge. Thera are lots of hiking trails. They also have historical significance. During World War I in the Battle of Soča – The Bloody River, here 2 million soldiers died.
