The beautifully symmetrical castle of Castillo de la Calahorra is located on the small hill of Cerro Amesetado (1,240 meters asl) in the northern foothills of the mighty Sierra Nevada. It is the overwhelming dominance of the region, also called Marquesado de Zenete. This building is also interesting because it is the first castle of the Italian Renaissance style outside of Italy. Very interesting is also inside, thanks to the palatial bay courtyard
