Locals say they are really haunted in abandoned houses. It all started after a territorial rosary among the sheikhs in 1914, when the city fell to the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. Disagreements arose between the city's tribal chief and the new sheikh, which led to most of the city's inhabitants moving to Abu Dhabi in 1968.
