The Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah is the northernmost of the United Arab Emirates. The highest peak of this state is also located here. Here you will find a coast with lots of hotels, interesting mountains, wadi valleys and, of course, a nice desert with herds of camels. Let's take a look at the most beautiful places in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah

1.
Al Wadi desert

A beautiful desert in the center of the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah

Altitude: 59 m / 194 ft

To the east of the E611 (Emirates Road) you will find the vast sandy desert of Al Wadi, where large herds of camels can also be seen. You can easily get here from hotels in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah as part of a trip to the local Bedouin camps. An even simpler and cheaper option is to get here by taxi, take a walk on the dunes and then come back. A good starting point for the dunes is around The Ritz-Carlton Ras Al Khaimah hotel, where you can also stay if you want to experience an original stay right in the center of the desert. continue reading

Its lower western peak is already in the United Arab Emirates, and with its height of 1,910 meters above sea level, it is the highest peak in the country (in some sources, the height is only 1,892 meters). There is a famous asphalt road with many turns below the peak, so it is relatively easily accessible. continue reading

3.
Wadi Naqab

Beautiful canyon in Ras al Khaimah

Altitude: 308 m / 1 010 ft

Beneath the Jebel Yanas mountain is a beautiful valley – Wadi Naqab. A large part of the valley can also be traveled by car. However, in places where it becomes a canyon, it is better to go your own way. As you can reach Oman through the valley, follow the warning signs and do not cross the border. continue reading

4.
Jebel Yanas (925m)

A beautiful view of Ras al Khaimah

Altitude: 925 m / 3 035 ft

Jebel Yanas (925m) is a relatively little-visited yet very interesting mountain in the emirate of Ras al Khaimah. There is a road (without asphalt) that leads to the top, only difficult for non-terrain vehicles. On the way to the top, there are some beautiful views of Wadi Naqab, where you can also hike. Directly from the top there is a view of the second valley – Wadi Qadaa. continue reading

5.
Marjan Island

The first artificial archipelago in Ras Al Khaimah

Altitude: 1 m / 3 ft

Probably the most famous area in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah where you can stay is Marjan Island. It's actually an archipelago (consisting of four islands: Breeze, Treasure, Dream and View). The island is really vast and it was all built by man. Here you will find mostly only luxury hotels that have their own beautiful private beaches. The entire island is connected by a bicycle path and a pedestrian walkway. continue reading

Al Jazirah Al Hamra

Old town or ghost town

Rating:
| Altitude: 3 m / 10 ft

Locals say they are really haunted in abandoned houses. It all started after a territorial rosary among the sheikhs in 1914, when the city fell to the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.
