The highest mountain in Tyrol
Wildspitze (3 774 m asl) is the second highest mountain in Austria and the highest in Tyrol. Its characteristic silhouette is visible from virtually any outlook in the Ötztal Alps. The highest mountain of Geigenkamm ridge
Hohe Geige (3,395m asl) is not one of the highest mountains in the Ötztal Alps, but it is also one of the most important hikers peaks. It is the highest peak on the jagged rock ridge of Geigenkamm. The least visited mountain
Vorderer Diemkogel (3 368 m asl) lies on the side three-top ridge leading from the massive and more famous Schalfkogel (3537 m asl). No tourist trail leads here and as the result, it is not often visited. Innere Schwarze Schneid (3,367 meters above sea level), this mountain with a breakneck and long name for foreigners, is very important for tourism in the Ötztal Alps. Its northern slope is covered by the relatively massive glacier Rettenbachferner, which serves as the main destination for skiers from Sölden. Mountain wall on the Geigenkamm
Puitkogel (3,343 m above sea level) is the second highest mountain on the wild Geigenkamm ridge after the Hohe Geige (3,395 m above sea level). Just as you climb the Hohe Geige, this mountain looks like a huge wall from the north, the walls of which fall several hundred meters lower. Due to the fact that there is no marked hiking trail leading to the top of this mountain, it is also little visited. continue reading

The summit of Mittagskogel (3,159 meters above sea level) is an easily accessible 3,000 m high mountain, which as a lonely fortress thrives above the Pitztal valley. Thanks to the Pitztal Express you can reach the restaurant up to a height of 2,841 meters above sea level and from there it is only 300 meters to the top. Marzellkamm (3 147 m asl) belong among the least significant three thousand meters high mountains in Austria. It's basically just a low peak on the rocky ridge leading from beautiful Similaun.
