Panská skála („Lord's Rock”) at Kamenický Šenov belongs to the most interesting natural monuments from the period of thirty million years ago, when last volcanic activity took place in the Czech Republic. These beautiful church organs were discovered during breaking the basalt. The most famous similar place is in Ireland – Giant's Causeway. This twelwe meters high rock with adjacent pond belongs to one of the most prominent symbols of the Lusatian Mountains and is worth at least a short visit.

At Panská skála („Lord's Rock”)

Already the parking place at Panská skála will surprise you with its size. Furthermore, there is a shed with refreshments and information center, just as somewhere near the national park in the US. From the parking lot it's still a hundred meters walk to this breathtaking piece of nature. But be aware that in the season there will be plenty of not only tourists but also cyclists. Right next leads cycling trail from Česká Lípa.

Pond at Panská skála

The quaintness of this entire place is enhanced by a pond adjacent to the rock formation.

Ascent to the organ

Ascent on Panská skála is relatively uncomfortable and in wet weather also quite dangerous. The individual pipes are of different lengths and can be slippery. But the view from the top, however, is quite nice, so it's worth to ascend there.

The outlook to the north

The rock itself stands on a flat ridge high above Nový Bor and Česká Kamenice. Probably the best view is to the north on a range of hills with dominant and nearby Šenovský vrch (632 m asl).

View of Klůčky

Just behind the road pass and district Prácheň is hill Klůčky (642 m asl) with another basalt quarry. In the distance peeks also beautiful top of Klíč (759 m asl).
