View from Valdice tower

The most beautiful view from Valdice tower is to the west of the picturesque Wallenstein Square surrounded by municipal houses with arcades. Every Saturday morning reigns here bustle and hustle, because traditional markets are held here.
 

Looking northwest through the houses of the old town, you can see a low but interesting ridge containing not only the views of Brad and Přivýšina, but especially the famous Prachovské rocks.

In the northeast direction is visible the wooded hill Čeřovka and the prettiest hill far and wide – Zebín.

Interesting is also the view of almost two kilometers long linden alley leading to the loggia and on to Valdice famous for its prison. On the horizon you can see the renowned outlook of Giant Mountains and ruined castle at the same time – Kumburk.

To the east, directly below the gate, is Žižkovo náměstí and the city's most important street – Husova. On the horizon you can see another well-known view of the Giant Mountains – Zvičina.

The view to the south is the least interesting. The landscape in the Cidlina basin, a tributary of the Elbe, is only slightly rugged.

In the southwest is also visible the tower of Church of Our Lady of Sale towering above Jičín cemetery. The horizon is dominated by the best outlook far and wide – Veliš hill, an ideal place for a short trip.

Especially for children is an interesting exhibition of beautiful wooden puppets just below the gallery of the tower.
