The top of Tábor is a popular destination for excursionists, it is no wonder that the road leads to the very top and there is also a lookout tower and a guest house. However, the hike is even better for other attractions that this hill offers: Allain's Tower or the Stations of the Cross. In addition, the prospects that await you here

Kyje

You can go on this round trip around Tábor from several different places. One of the options is Kyje. It is possible to park in a small parking lot (3 cars) at a road junction or for the lazier to go 700 meters further (and 64 meters higher) to the plot at the railway station

Sacral monuments

On this tour you will meet many smaller and larger sacral monuments. This cross is just a short walk from the train station, an alternative start of this tour

Viewpoint by the tree

At the railway station, it is possible to continue on three paths – along the yellow road to Allain's tower, along the red road directly up to Tábor or along the narrow asphalt road, along which the cycle route leads. We go up the asphalt road and after about 800 meters we ascend to a nice lookout point to the castle Bradlec and the Jičín basin. The local lonely tree is nice for all seasons

View of the Giant Mountains, including Sněžka

Just a few tens of meters away, a beautiful view opens up to the other side – the Giant Mountains, including Sněžka. This tour is therefore ideal for doing business with good visibility, so that there is something to enjoy (the Giant Mountains are about 30 km away as the crow flies)

Before Chlum

We are slowly approaching Chlum and the views are still great

Chlum

We come to Chlum, through which the road leads directly to the top of Tábor, but we will still continue on the roundabout. We will go around a beautiful sculptural group to the transformer from which the road descends to Lomnice nad Popelkou. We will follow it, but immediately after 100 meters we will turn left and we will continue along the contour line (around the new building of a large log cabin) until we connect to the blue hiking trail leading from Lomnice to the top of Tábor)

Lípa pod Táborem

If you want a light rest, you can use the benches under a huge linden tree a little further

Views over the linden tree

It is enough to ascend only a few tens of meters from the linden tree and the view of the region is again impressive

Křížovka spring and niche chapel Chlum

Another interesting place on this tour is the Křížovka spring, unfortunately almost dry and behind it a beautiful chapel

The Way of the Cross to the top of Tábor

From the chapel we finally have the final ascent to the hill. We can see the individual stops of the Stations of the Cross

The top of Tábor

Finally you are on the flat top of the hill Tábor (678m above sea level). There is a guest house and especially Tichánek's lookout tower. „Ascent to the lookout tower“: https: //www.gigaplaces.com/clanek-vyhled-z-rozhledny-na-tabore/ (20CZK admission) is the highlight of this tour

Baroque Church of the Transfiguration

Apart from the lookout tower, there is also a rather monumental Church of the Transfiguration on the top of the hill

Steep descent through the forest

From the top, embark on a descent along the red hiking trail. At the beginning, it's quite a mess, so in the winter months it can be quite interesting here

At Allain's tower

In places where the hiking trail ascends several cottages from the forest, turn sharply right and along the forest road you will walk after about 500 meters to a picturesque meadow with a pond and a nice Allain tower.

Allain Tower

Allain's tower served as a magnificent posed in the 19th century, now it is an accessible lookout tower in the vicinity. From the tower, follow the yellow tourist route back to the railway station and down to Kyjí.
