Hike around Roques de Garcia

The starting point of this short hike is in a huge parking lot at the southeastern end of a rocky ridge at an altitude of 2,140 meters above sea level. You will have to literally break through the crowds to get to the local symbol – the Roque Cinchado – God's finger. The monumental volcano Pico de Teide rises on the horizon.

After walking about 300 meters along the hiking trail to the north, you will walk to the lookout, from where there is a very nice view of the huge Cathedral Cathedral and the rest of the caldera. In these places you will meet only a minimum of tourists.

The path, surrounded by sparse vegetation, winds around the entire rocky ridge.

This journey also has the magic in the fact that in a short time you will get away from a busy civilization and most likely you will not meet anyone else on this tour.

At the northern end of the ridge you can turn around and return the same way or better continue down to the plain of Ucanca and see the rocks from below. However, you will of course finally have to climb back to the platform.

The Pico de Teide peak occasionally peeks out over the rock towers.

When descending to the Ucanca plateau, you can enjoy truly dramatic rock towers.

The march on the plain is comfortable, but be sure not to forget this head covering tour.

At the end of this tour, an unpleasant ascent of more than a hundred meters high back to civilization awaits you.

For photographers, this place has a charm until sunset, when the whole region is colored orange. However, come here a little earlier, because due to the nearby volcanoes, the shadow falls here very soon.
