Great views and refreshments in a strategic location

About 5 kilometers northeast of the center of Jablonec nad Nisou is a stone lookout tower with an amazing circular view of the Jizera Mountains and the Giant Mountains. The place is easily accessible from the village of Horní Maxov and by car and there is a spacious parking lot and restaurant, and therefore is a frequent destination for walks and trips.
Lookout tower
The stone lookout tower has a total height of 21 meters and offers a beautiful panoramic view from the observation deck at a height of 18.5 meters. But it is necessary to pay the entrance fee and climb the 96 steps. In spring and autumn, the lookout tower is accessible only on weekends, in summer daily. In July 2015, the lookout tower was declared a cultural monument.


History
The site was originally a wooden lookout tower opened on August 4, 1889. However, it was severely damaged by the elements and was therefore replaced by a massive stone lookout tower, which was ceremoniously opened on June 16, 1912. After 1991, the area passed into private hands the whole complex was finally closed at the beginning of 2008. Gradually, the lookout tower became the property of the town of Lučany nad Nisou and was repaired. It was reopened to visitors in August 2010,
Tourist cottage
Right next to the lookout tower is the newly renovated cottage Bramberk, which offers comfortable accommodation in 12 rooms and 4 suites. There is also a restaurant, bar and garden. The place is therefore a popular place for family recreation in summer and winter.

Refreshments are provided by a pleasant mountain-style restaurant.
