Ascent to Predné Solisko

We chose the front Solisko in the High Tatras as a light hike and that was also the case. We park the car at Štrbské pleso, which we go around to the Patria Hotel – Štrbské pleso can be bypassed from both sides. We start to climb the blue sign, after a while we pass the ski jump and soon we see the final station of the cable car in the distance, the place where Chata pod Soliskom is located 1840 m above sea level. There are many more tourists, because the cable car from Štrbské pleso leads to this place. Above the cottage there is only one marked red route, which climbs to the top of Predný Solisko and the same red route down to the cottage. From Chata pod Soliskom you can go back to Štrbské pleso in the same way as the ascent, ie follow the blue sign, or from the cottage you can also follow the blue sign leading to the left at the crossroads of Škutnastá polana and from there along the yellow sign down Furkotská dolina. Subsequently, the yellow sign is still connected at the signpost Pod Furkotskou dolinou to the red sign in the direction of Štrbské pleso – this route is a little longer.

The ascent begins at Štrbské pleso, which we go around almost completely and get to the signpost under the cable car and walk around the ski jump.

… the route leads under the cable car, which probably serves skiers in winter, a little further to the right is a chairlift, which can make the ascent easier …

.. the tops of the mountains are shrouded in fog, but we already have the final station of the cable car in sight …

… at the top station of the cable car, there are two restaurants, one of them is Chata pod Soliskom and we are at an altitude of 1840 m
