Article Ascent to Lackkopf
Outlook of the valley Ferleintental
If you have already set out for a nice hike around five waterfalls to the homestead Walcher Hochalm (1 855 m asl), it is a good idea to spice up this trip with an ascent to outlook hillock Lackkopf (2 084 m asl). You can expect a pleasant journey in the hillslopes of local three thousand high mountains with stunning view of the valley Ferleintental and famous road Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse.

The journey to Lackkopf begins at picturesque meadows near the homestead Walcher Hochalm.
The slopes of the hill Horndlkopf
The path rises under the top of Horndlkopf and leaves green meadows below you.
View of Schattseitkar
During the ascent you can enjoy beautiful rhododendrons and remnants of the glacier in Schattseitkar.
The way to Lackkopf
The way from the hut rises first to the pass below the peak Horndlkopf – in the picture small peak to the right and then rises more slowly (for less than a kilometer) through bare meadow landscape to Lackkopf.
The main Alpine ridge of Lackkopf
From the top there is a nice view of the main Alpine ridge including Spielmann (3 027 m asl), Fuscher Kar Kopf (3 331 m asl) or Hohe Dock (3 348 m asl).
View of Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse
There is also an interesting view on the other side of the valley to a twisting famous road Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse.
You have to get back the same way that you came.
