The island of Thassos can be found at the very northern edge of the Aegean Sea. It is among the greenest Greek islands. It is also very mountainous. The highest peak is Ypsarion (1,204m). The island is popular among summer vacationers mainly due to its beautiful beaches. There is no international airport here, so you can get here by ferry from the town of Keramoti, located not far from Kavala airport.
