There are fewer beautiful beaches on the west side of Thassos than on the south or east. Among the most famous local beaches is Atspas, a beautiful cove in the small resort of Skala Maries. The beach itself lies in a beautiful bay resembling a small fjord. Unfortunately, as with a number of other beaches on Thassos, practically all of them are covered with umbrellas.
