A pleasant walk from Potos
If you don't want to just lie by the sea on Thassos, there are a number of options for hiking. Challenging hikes naturally lead to the mountains in the interior of the island, but you can also take short walks to various islands and small peninsulas. One of them is Cape Potos with the highest point in the form of Kochlios (75m). Only 2.5 km (including the return trip) await you.
View of San Antonio Beach
The walk begins at the southern end of San Antonio Beach. Here you will find the beginning of the path climbing the cliff. The beginning of the journey is a bit unpleasant due to the fact that the bushes near the beach serve as a public toilet. After a while, however, a beautiful view opens up of the beach and Potos in the background
View of Vulos beach
A short distance away is a beautiful view of Vulos beach. It is difficult to climb down here. It's easier to swim here
Potos Peninsula
The Potos Peninsula is just a noodle sticking out into the sea. It is about 200 meters wide and about a kilometer long. The road itself is relatively wide and a car could pass here.
Chapel of Agios Antonios
After walking about 250 meters from the beach, you will come to a small chapel. This is where most of the hikers turn around, who really think it's a very short walk. It's basically just getting started here for us.
Wild beach
About 100 meters further, a steep path leads to a wild beach – a good tip for those who don't like crowds on organized beaches. An ideal spot on the way back to freshen up.
A beach like somewhere in the wilderness
It really looks like somewhere in the wilderness.
Finally, the views
This is followed by a section where there are only sporadic views thanks to the tall pine trees. They start almost at the end of the peninsula, where the vegetation is lower and the region is more arid.
View of three attractions
Then the view to the east opens up really nicely – where you can see a large sea cave, a well-known rock formation and in the background Rosonkremos beach
A journey to the very end of the world
Probably the best-known view of this walk is at the very end, where the path visually leads to the very end of the world.
A look into the depths
At the very end of the cape, there is basically no decent view. Basically, trying to take any photo of a cliff is relatively dangerous.
