The first mention of the fortress comes from 1808. It consisted of upper and lower parts. From 1880 it became abandoned. The road continues to rise from Mangart Pass. It is the highest road in Slovenia. Former military road built in the late 1930s by Italians, which was modified in the 1980s to open to tourists. It is a popular biker paradise. The road of man will take you up to 2065 meters above sea level, which is the so-called Mangart Pass
