Mexican cuisine is a little different than tourists are usually accustomed to from their homes. Above all, it does not need to be necessarily spicy. It is based mainly on beans, corn and chili peppers, countless types of tortillas, various sauces and salsas. You can find these components on a plate with almost every meal. Typical are also olives, capers and tomatoes.

You can also find here the network of fast food restaurants such as McDonald's or KFC. But going there for a meal here in Mexico is almost a sin.

Food on the street

Lucie Markova Wrote 02.02.2013:
  • Streets are constantly full of salesmen, because Mexicans love this way of eating (and food in general). You can buy here the above mentioned antojitos, fresh juices or delicious mostly fried sweets.
  • In nearly every market there is a part designed as a restaurant – you can have good and cheap food here.
