Bolivia is not overflowing with architectural monuments. The most important site is the ancient Tiwanaku (Sun Gate), entwined with Inca legends. You will also find colonial architecture in Potosí and Sucre, as well as picturesque Altiplan churches.

Cities

The most significant and largest city in Bolivia is La Paz. Tourists are interested of Sucre, mining city of Potosí and windy Uyuni (only that it is the starting point of the famous Salar tour). Among smaller town belong to Copacabana on Lake Titicaca and Tupiza. One of the great bolivian interest is the question what is the capital of the country. Officially, according to the constitution, it is Sucre. In reality, of course, La Paz.

Religious buildings

In important Bolivian cities you will find colonial cathedrals and churches. The most important is in La Paz. However, the small churches on the Altiplán are very nice.

In Bolivia encounter the remnants of Inca monuments. Mainly around Lake Titicaca.

Technical monuments

Virtually all technical monuments in Bolivia are related to mining. The most famous is the mine in Cerro Rico in Potosí. Very interesting is the train cemetery near Uyuni.
