Starting point for the Belize Barrier Reef
Belize City is the largest city in Belize. It is an ideal base for the Belize Barrier Reef and the Cayes Islands. From here, you can easily get a bus to Mexico to Yucatan or Guatemala to Tikal. There are not many monuments in the city itself, but like everything in Belize, it has a certain atmosphere.
