Forbidden kingdom
Trek in Upper Mustang takes you into the landscape of the upland plateau at an altitude of over 3,000 meters above sea level. The entire area had until recently a partial autonomy, which was canceled in 2008. But the access is still regulated by the need to obtain (and pay for) the entry permit and have the Nepalese guide. Upper Mustang is located around the river Kali Gandaki. On its banks are even today many wonderful fossils of plants and animals. The views of Himalayan peaks dominated with the ridge of Annapurnas and Dhaulagiri will accompany you throughout the entire trek. And Buddhist monasteries and buildings give the whole journey a pleasant spiritual dimension.
