Lo Manthang is the capital of the ancient kingdom of Mustang. It offers some interesting gompas, royal palace, narrow streets and traditional houses. It is apparent that it is a destination for tourists undertaking mustang trek and often spend here several days. It is possible to go through the town for half a day. But the surroundings offer activities even for several days, depending on how much time you have.

When I grow up, I’ll have a motorbike

Lo Manthang is near to the border with Tibet. Paved road to the pass Kora La (4 660 m asl) brings a lot of goods from China as well as trade opportunities to locals.

On the edge of town

The old mixes here with the new. The new, however, is here often an intruder, which is difficult for rough and at the same time vulnerable beauty of the local nature to cope with.
