The town of Železnice is famous for its Empire square, which is dominated by a nice town hall. In addition, there is also a museum of local lore, the mighty church of St. Jilji and the formerly famous spa. For hikers, it is a stop on the way from Jičín to Tábor, or an alternative start of a sightseeing tour to the ruins of Bradlec Castle. South of the town is the peak Želený.

Freedom Railway Square

Start of the tour The railway logically starts on Svobody Square – there is also the most important building here – the Empire City Hall. In addition, there are plenty of parking spaces on the square (free of charge).

The other side of the railway town hall

The other side of the town hall is no longer so showy. The passage from the square will be used mainly by those who want to diversify their tour of the town by climbing the nearby hill Železný (less than 20 minutes walk one way).

Church of St. Jilji in the Railway

The biggest landmark of the city is the church of St. Jilji visible from afar. Due to the emergency condition of the ceilings, entry into it is prohibited.
