The center of the national park
Karakol trek is the shortest variant of trips to the Těrský Alatoo mountains. You will head directly to the main valley, which falls into the national park. From here you can ascend to Lake Ala kol and the next day you can go directly below the highest mountain Karakol. Even during this short march, you will get a nice idea of the nature in the Tian Shan Mountains. In addition, there are a number of options where you can extend this march for more than a week.
City tour of Karakol
The gateway to the Terra Alatoo region is a relatively large city Karakol located east of the Kyrgyz Sea – Lake Issyk Kul. You will probably spend the night here before and after the trek. There are also a few monuments to see. There are frequent connections from here to both Bishkek and Cholpon Ata, where you can possibly take a trip on a trek.
Day 1 - Road to Karakol BC
The first day of this trip can be quite different – if you pay for transport, you can be in Karakol BC before noon and take an even shorter hike around. If you want to go „honestly“, then you are waiting for about 20 kilometers, mostly through the forest. Off road is probably a better option.

Day 2 - Trip to Lake Ala kol
Lake Ala Bike is basically the biggest magnet of the whole national park. It is a day trip from Karakol BC. If you hurry a lot and drive to Karakol BC, you will be able to run here during the first day and return. However, most tourists extend this trek by sleeping by the lake and returning to Karakol through another valley through the Altyn Arashan spa. In this case, it is better to go to Mount Karakol first.
