A trip around Lake Weißsee

The starting point for the hike is a place called Enzingerboden in the Stubach Valley. It turns into it in the town of Uttendorf and it is 17 kilometers along a narrower road with several bends. You will drive 850 meters by car and the landscape around you will gradually change – from a wide valley with farms and cows to a narrow mountain valley

Enzingerboden is basically a large car park, located just above the smaller dam Speichersee Enzingerboden. Here you can leave your car for free and, like most, continue on the cable car, which takes you from 1,460 meters to 2,345, to Rudolfshütte, effortlessly. Of course, it is also possible to step on the whole thing. In addition, a short distance above the cable car station, the hiking trails branch, so it is possible to use more variants

The first section of the cable car leads to Lake Grünsee, where it changes. The surrounding landscape with a waterfall and a lake is magical, reminiscent of the High Tatras

The cable car ride itself is a great experience with countless beautiful views of the surrounding waterfalls and mountain peaks. Finally, the massive dam of the Weißsee lake appears in front of you

To look around, it is best to first walk the short Panoramaweg circuit and then go hiking. First bypass part of the lake and then ascend to the saddle Kalser Tauern. From here, it is only a short walk to the top of Medelzkopf. The same way back. If you have more time, you can then run down the whole hill instead of taking the cable car.
