Sacred Tibetan Lake
Namtso (4,729m asl) /sometimes also written as Nam Co/ is the largest lake in the Tibetan Autonomous Republic and one of the world's highest lakes in the world at all. Thanks to the Nyenchen Tanglha Mountain Range (Nyainqêntanglha) stretching south of the lake there are very beautiful mountain views from the lake. For locals is this lake sacred, and since ancient ages there have been groups of pilgrims from all over Tibet.
