Melissani Cave or Melissani Lake is probably the most interesting natural phenomenon on Kefalonia. It is actually a gigantic cave that a tree has partially fallen into and its bottom is flooded, so that a picturesque lake has formed. You can find it not far from the town of Sami. There is a large parking lot (free) and a tunnel takes you to the boat „dock“ from where you can take a short cruise on this lake.
