Excursion to Drogarati Cave
Trip to the most beautiful cave of Kefalonia
Drogarati Cave is considered the most beautiful cave in Kefalonia. In addition, its cave dome is the largest in all of Greece. Thanks to this, music concerts are sometimes held here. You can find it not far from the town of Sami. It is quite well marked with road signs.
Descent into the cave
After you arrive at the parking lot by the cave (it's free), you can refresh yourself in the restaurant or buy souvenirs. They are well prepared for tourists here. After paying the entrance fee, take the stairs to the depths. There are no guides, so you don't have to wait for the designated tour times.
Entrance to the dome
After a while you will see the entrance to the cave dome. There are carpets stretched all over the cave because it is very humid and there is a constant risk of slipping.

Finally, we are at the viewpoint to the upper part of the Drogarati cave. The dome is really huge
Beautiful stalactite decoration
The cave has extensive stalactite decoration. Unfortunately, it can be seen that dozens, maybe hundreds of stalactites are broken.

The cave is really beautiful and some corners look literally like a fairy tale.
Lower part of Drogarati Cave
The lower part of the cave looks the most impressive. It is only here that you realize how huge the dome here is. Since no other spaces are accessible here, the tour of the cave is relatively short, but it is still definitely worth it.
