Visit of Palenque
The most beautiful Mayan monuments in Me
Ancient Mayan town of Palenque is nestled in the foothills of Chiapas mountains and is surrounded by the remains of virgin forest. Palenque competes with its Guatemalan rival Tikal for the post of the most beautiful Mayan ruins. Most visitors agree that local buildings are perhaps a little nicer, but there are crowds of tourists, which takes away from the atmosphere a little. Anyway, Palenque should certainly be the „mandatory“ stop your journey around Mexico. Moreover, only a few kilometers away there are other very nice places – waterfalls of Agua Azul and Misol Ha. continue reading

The waterfalls itself are a cascading series of different sizes on more than a kilometer stretch of beautiful blue river (if it is not after strong rains, when the water immediately colors to brown). continue reading
Trip to Tulum
Caribbean pearl of Yucatan
The entrance gate to relatively untouched strip of beautiful Caribbean coast with white sands is a provincial town of Tulum. You will not find here much of interest, but it is a good bus junction, from where you can easily get to all sites in Yucatan. From here it is still a few kilometers to the lengthy beach enclosed fortunately by only decent cabanas and low small hotels. Right next door is also interesting Mayan fortress. continue reading
Trip to Mazunte
A nice resort on the Pacific coast of Mexico
If you are traveling in Mexico and want to bathe elsewhere than in the Yucatan, Mazunte is a good choice. Here and in its vicinity there are a number of beautiful beaches with only low cabanas without large hotels. You can also take boat trips and watch turtles, dolphins or, for a little luck, whales. An ideal place for 2–3 days of relaxation continue reading

However, if you are planning a bigger trip around Mexico, it is not bad to stop here at least for a day or two. continue reading
Tour of Cholula
A trip to the world's largest pyramid
Although Cholula is listed as an independent city of hundreds of thousands, it basically connects to the large city of Puebla. The main reason to come here is the huge pyramid Tlachihualtepetl, which is measured to be the largest pyramid in the world. Today, however, it looks from almost all sides just like an overgrown hill with the church of Nuestra Señora de los Remedios on top. In addition to the pyramids in Cholula, you will also find a large monastery of St. Gabriel and the Church of St. Petra continue reading

Exhibited monuments are essentially the remnants carried off from La Venta (for Olmecs sacred town lost among marshes). continue reading

Predator´s waterfall
Waterfall famous for scenes in the movie Predator lying only about 20 km from the town of Palenque belong among the most beautiful ones in Mexico, although it is a bit overshadowed by the more interesting water cascades Aqua Azul a little bit further. Visit of Valladolid
Town in the middle of the Yucatan
